Why Vitamin C Is Important

Guinea pigs are special because their bodies cannot make Vitamin C on their own.

If they do not get enough Vitamin C, they can become weak and unhealthy, and their bodies may age faster.

Giving your guinea pig fresh foods that contain Vitamin C (like bell peppers) or good-quality guinea pig food can help them stay healthy and live longer.

With good care, many guinea pigs live about 5 to 7 years or even longer.
